“Pop music has got its edge back, not to mention its groove, and don’t the folks at Gold Dust know it” (The Guardian)
“Young, glittery and glamorous” (Grazia Magazine)
“Still
consistently fun, fabulous and full of the glitterati” (Daily
Telegraph)

This
month GOLD DUST turns two years old. Setting the bar for showcasing new
talent, the night has gone form strength to strength since it’s
inception in 2008. In a climate where club nights come and go, GOLD DUST
continues to bring the best new and up and coming artists.
Headlining
our anniversary GOLD DUST is Liam Bailey. Hailing from Nottingham
(which he evacuated after supposedly "losing his mojo"), he has a past
in hiphop group 1st Blood, is a member of folk collective The Accidental
and is a multi talented singer-songwriter. He’s played this year’s
Glastonbury, and T In the Park, has a debut single out in September and
his debut album produced by Sex & The City musical director and
versatile producer Salaam Remi (Nas, Amy Winehouse) out in January.
Described
by the Guardian as “gorgeously gloomy sugar-pop sounding like Kylie
with boyfriend problems”, gorgeous Swedish pop sensation ROSANNA plays
one of only a handful of UK shows with GOLD DUST one of them. With
favourable comparisons to Robyn, her tunes and beats are as catchy as
they are moving. Rosanna wil be treating us to debut single ‘Waterfall’
which is released days later on August 23rd on the newly formed
Popjustice label, Hi-Fi.
LIZ LAWRENCE started strumming her
guitar at an early age Liz’s influences have turned from ska and reggae
via folk echoing Bob Dylan, Joe Strummer and Feis. She now currently
plays all across the UK when not completing her art degree in Devon. Get
down early and experience Liz’s GOLD DUST debut, already championed by
by Tom Robinson on his BBC 6 Introducing show.
South London
rapper SMILER completes the bill, having spent the last few months
taking 1Xtra and Radio1 by storm. He started rapping eight years ago and
has already supported the likes of GZA from Wu-Tang and D12.
Our
GOLD DUST Resident DJ Ben Pistor from the notorious Disco Bloodbath
will be on hand to keep you dancing under the giant golden disco bal.
