'New Adventures live in concert for one last time – a double set of old and new to say thanks to everyone for all the support over the years.'
As epic as they are heartfelt, New Adventures represent a much needed musical detox from the flimsy style-over-substance indie that is trying to populate the genre. Championed by Radio 1’s Steve Lamacq, as well as a growing legion of fans, New Adventures’ stride grows ever bolder, and ever more life-affirming.
A five-piece based in London, the four gentlemen of New Adventures met in the cultural wasteland of High Wycombe, where university studies were shunned for the more pressing pursuit of making lots of noise in a self-built rehearsal room. After moving to London to find their fortune, the fledgling band realised they needed someone who could capably operate a piano and a computer. An advert went up in the vintage clothes store that Jez and Steven worked in, Helen answered, and New Adventures were born.
That New Adventures have a genuine and unpretentious appreciation of songcraft, not to mention hooks capable of tearing through the stratosphere, was amply demonstrated by 2008’s Accidents EP.
New Adventures' album Repeat to Fade will be out on worldwide digital release on 29th March.
