Now
in its second year, GOLD DUST continues to bring some of the best new
and up and coming artists to the stage and this month is no exception as
we team up with the infamous Sunday Best. The purveyors the mind
blowing Bestival, Camp Bestival, their own label and much more are
perfect bedfellows for GOLD DUST and are joining forces to bring you our
best night yet.
Headlining this month is Sunday Best’s David E
Sugar, one of the most promising talents on the UK underground. His
indie electro has taken him on world tours with the likes of Calvin
Harris, Digitalism, Hadouken and Deadmau5 and garnered fans in the form
of Zane Lowe and Kissy Sellout. The pioneer of ‘chip-tune’ (90s computer
game music with a twist) his latest single ‘Party Killer’ was released
this summer with an album due in October.
Also on the bill are
returning champions Diagram of The Heart. With their single Dead Famous
making waves and feature in the national press, things have changes
since they last played. Championed by pop barometer Popjustice and
hailed by music and style tome Disorder as ‘pop with sweaty diamond
shine, they are a pop group bringing the sounds of the past few decades
and masterfully fusing them into electro pop gems’. They play GOLD DUST
just days after playing Bestival.
Also playing this month is
Spark who grew up listening to artists from the Spice Girls to Shaggy
and can safely say she has been influenced by everyone. Debut single and
pop gem ‘Shut Out The Moon’ shows an amazing songwriting ability
drawing from her experiences and performing with gusto. Spark currently
touring the UK making a pit stop at GOLD DUST.
Making their GOLD
DUST debut Sound of Rum formed in the summer of 2008. Since then rapper
Kate Tempest, guitarist Archie Marsh and drummer Ferry Lawrenson have
been playing gigs all over Britain, at every festival going from V
Festival to Secret Garden Party, whether on actual stages or just
busking in the rain. The band are in the process of recording their
first full length album released mid 2010.
Our GOLD DUST
Resident DJ Ben Pistor from the notorious Disco Bloodbath will be on
hand to keep you dancing under the giant golden disco ball til the early
hours.
